Analysis of the sadness of the times in the poetry of Shamlou and Adonis

Abstract :

Contemporary Persian and Arabic poetry, especially in the works of Ahmed Shamlou and Adonis, reflects the complex thoughts and concerns of the time. The sadness of time, as one of the prominent elements in the poetry of these two poets, represents their deep connection with the social, political and cultural developments of their time. This research, based on the descriptive-analytical method, with a comparative study of the sadness of the times in the poetry of Shamlou and Adonis, tries to investigate the different contexts of this feeling in the works of these two poets and analyze the ways of expressing it. Using symbolic and metaphorical language, Shamlou expresses the sadness of the times in a way that reflects not only individual pains but also collective tragedy. On the other hand, Adonis, using innovative styles and visual language, presents the sadness of the times as a symbol of the destruction of old values ​​and the emergence of a new world. Through content analysis and analysis of poetic samples, the present research investigates how the sadness of the times is manifested in the works of these two poets and, with a comparative presentation, looks at the points of commonality and difference in their attitudes and artistic expression. The results show that both poets have introduced the sadness of time as one of the central elements in contemporary poetry by using their special literary and linguistic techniques
