Abstract :
Throughout history, our country has been a witness to political tensions, and the scene for many military conflicts. These events, in addition to the special social, martial, and political consequences, have provided the basis for the formation of many in our rich literature. The Qajar period, in particular, was one of the most eventful eras, political, martial, and social wise, the effects of which can be clearly observed in the history of our epic and narrative literature. Among these works is Shahanshanameh, written by a most influential scriber and man of letters of the Qajar era, named Taghi Onvannegar. Narrating the events of that age from a literary perspective, closely witnessed by him and his ancestors, gives us a fresh perspective worthy of investigation. In the upcoming study, the compilers have endeavored to investigate the historical events mentioned in the work, comparing their narration with the book Naskh al-Tawarikh, written by the renowned Qajar historian Sepehr, so that the similarities and differences of the two works are revealed in terms of historical narration. In addition, the possible reasons for these similarities and differences is a matter of study and investigation. The results of this study show that the causes of these similarities and differences are mainly as follows: The use of common or different sources, human errors, mythmaking, temporal and local differences in narrations, and the narrators' motives. The research method in this study is qualitative content analysis and description. The data collection was done through questionnaires.
