Abstract :
Small companies make a big contribution to the circular economy. And on the other hand, the economic crisis can threaten the survival of organizations, so it is very important to understand the factors that predict the chances of small companies' business survival. Among these factors is the psychological resilience of company owners, which helps to deal with depression and leads to more chances for business survival. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the effect of psychological resilience on the chance of business survival by mediating depression in critical conditions in industrial towns. This research has been applied with a descriptive-correlation method. The statistical population of the research is the owners of active companies in industrial towns (Marand and foreign investment). The total statistical population is 145 active companies and the sampling method was used. The present research method is a survey and a questionnaire was used to collect data. Research hypotheses were tested using SMART PLS software and structural equation model method to investigate the causal model. The statistical results show that psychological resilience has a significant effect on the chance of business survival, and depression in critical situations significantly mediates the effect of psychological resilience on the chance of business survival. It can be concluded that during the economic crisis, owners with high psychological resilience will experience less depression. Less depression increases the chances of survival of small firms.
