Abstract :
Puns and puns in traditional rhetoric are two verbal arrays that make speech beautiful by creating music and song in words. Abdul Qadir Jarjani considers the value of puns to depend on the meaning and believes that puns become acceptable when the meaning of the word requires it. Attention to innovation and its knowledge caused the use of puns and puns in his poems. But the method of connecting this verbal art with meaning has given his poetry a prominent feature, which can be seen as an example in the double lexical contrasts that benefit from the art of sarcasm or pun. Based on this, many of the double contrasts in Jabali's poems are complementary or congruent words, and the juxtaposition of word balance and contrast of meaning has added to the eloquence of his speech. In this research, first, the structuralist approach of linguistics and literary criticism was taken into account in extracting double contrasts, and then, the lexical contrasts were categorized based on puns and puns. In this research, the author is trying to study the aesthetics of Abdul Wase Jabali's poems from the perspective of puns and puns using the descriptive-analytical method and using library documents. The evidence shows that Jabali created beautiful rhetorical examples in the field of puns and puns in his poems, and this added to the beauty of his words and increased its impact on his readers.
