Abstract :

In the theory of cognitive linguists, in general, metaphor is a tool for thinking and understanding abstract concepts. From this point of view, metaphor is more than a mere literary array and a product of linguistic norm avoidance, has a colorful emergence in automatic language And it occurs more in concepts than in vocabulary. In this research, we aim to show by analyzing the cognitive metaphor of the concept of death in Khaqani's poetry For what reasons, death has been used in a different meaning than its original meaning, which is the cutting off of the breath and the departure of the soul from the body. How are these metaphorical meanings in the language of Khaqani and content such as Ghazal And to what extent are they the same or in conflict with death in its original meaning? How to use Khaqani of Ghazal Sera, from the death that happens to lovers. It is one of the cases that this study seeks to answer;The author is on it to Metaphor analysis units using different theories about conceptual metaphor, How to justify the metaphor in the text of the sonnet as well as the metaphor of Khaqani's mind about death and the conceptual areas of origin and destination, It is shown in his poems and draw the most important metaphorical functions of death and its subgroup schemas. The use of the word death and its derivatives in Ghazliat shows, The macro metaphor of death in the texture of the sonnet distance and hijran from the lover and in Khagani's mind is an attack at the feet of the beloved And the most important conceptual areas of this word are:Bleeding,sacrificing,burning,and fulfilling the life
