investigating the effect of saffron petals on carcass traits growth hormone and performance in broiler chickens

Abstract :
A total of 288 one-day-old chicks of the Ras 308 strain were tested in a completely randomized design with four treatments and six repetitions, in each repetition 21 birds were tested for 24 days. The experimental treatments used in this project included the control treatment, the base diet treatment + 1.5% saffron petal powder, the base diet treatment + 2% saffron petal powder and the base diet treatment + 2.5% saffron petal powder. Feed consumption in the treatment containing saffron petal powder increased significantly in the third and fourth weeks compared to the control treatment. highest weight gain was observed in the control treatment and the treatment containing 1.5% saffron petal powder, and with the increase in the level of saffron petal powder, weight gain decreased significantly (P<0.05). The second week of Shahid treatment and treatment 2, which contained 1.5% level of saffron petal powder, had the lowest feed conversion ratio. Carcass weight, thigh, breast, heart, bursa of Fabricius, liver and the level of LDL, HDL, triglyceride, cholesterol, thyroxine level and blood insulin were not affected by the experimental treatments, but the weight of abdominal fat was significantly affected by the experimental treatments, so The lowest amount of abdominal fat was observed in treatment three, that is, the treatment containing 2% saffron petal powder. Growth hormone was significantly affected by different levels of saffron petal powder, the highest and lowest amount of growth hormone was observed in control treatment and treatment four, which contained 2.5% of saffron petal powder.
