Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to examine the role of past experiences and events in the emergence of compulsory shopping behavior. The method of this research is from the point of view of the purpose, applied, from the viewpoint of the data type, quantitatively and in terms of data collection method, is descriptive survey. The sample size was 384 people based on Cochran formula and distribution of the questionnaire among 16-29 year old youths in Tehran. To determine the validity of the questionnaire, the CVR method and confirmatory factor analysis were used. To determine the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to examine the relationship between variables. The findings of this study did not exclude the impact of conflict with the family, community-based communication and communication with peers on forced shopping behavior and the effect of conceptual-oriented communication and self-esteem on forced purchasing behavior was rejected. The social outcomes of this research include awareness of marketers, retailers, families, counselors and policy makers in the field of health in understanding the mechanisms and areas of the incidence and development of mandatory purchasing in order to prevent the emergence of compulsive consumption patterns that have devastating effects on the individual and society.
