Abstract :
The aim of this study was to explain the effectiveness of treatment based on modifying the pattern of parent-child interaction, sleep quality and communication with parents and peers in children aged 9-12 years with Internet addiction. This study was a quasi-experimental study using pretest / posttest with control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all 3617 students aged 9-12 years studying in selected schools in Kerman in the academic year 1399-1400. Of these, 99 students obtained Internet addiction scores and 72 students were randomly selected and divided into case and control groups. Data were collected using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Attachment Questionnaire. The researcher then performed the research intervention for the experimental group. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software and descriptive and inferential statistical methods and parametric bread test. The results showed that in the experimental group, Internet addiction decreased and changed to the situation of Internet addiction. The results showed an improvement in the overall quality of sleep in the experimental group after the intervention. The average total score of the quality of parent-child relationship indicates that parental attachment increased from average to very good and the average total score of quality of child-peer relationship increased from average to very good. The results of this study showed the effectiveness of treatment based on modifying the parent-child interaction on the desired variables in these children.
