Abstract :
Social networks are known as an integral part of contemporary politics. For this reason, examining social and political changes regardless of social networks as an influential and inclusive media seems inappropriate. Information technology, including the Internet, is widespread among the Iranian community and has thus created a new discourse in politics and society, or has caused widespread changes in the field of political beliefs and norms after the Islamic Revolution. Therefore, the present research sought to answer the question of how and to what extent social networks contributed to a new understanding of the phenomenon of the Islamic Revolution. In this regard, the following hypothesis was taken into account: social networks, as identity-making agents, have transformed the Revolution’s identity-making after the Islamic Revolution. The present study used Joseph Nye’s idea as a theoretical framework that could provide us with some strategies for a new understanding of the identity of the Islamic Revolution. The research method is qualitative and descriptive-analytical.
