Comparison of pregnancy rates in levothyroxine-treated women with hypothyroidism with women without thyroid dysfunction disorders In patients referred to the infertility center for IVF in 2012 to 2013

Abstract :

Background: IVF is one of the most important means of assisted reproductive technology treatment of infertility. There is Known association between hypothyroidism and decreased fertility rates. Methods: a case - control study of 80 case patients 2011 to 2012 years in Novin center of  infertility undergoing IVF were investigated. Patient information including age, number and quality of oocytes and embryos, TSH levels And thus the cycle ultrasound then confirmed as positive HCG was extracted., then the data was analyzed. Finding: In our study, among the 39 women with  hypothyroidism  51/3% had positive results, among 41 women with normal thyroid 63/4% of cycles had a positive result .There is not a statistically significant difference between the pregnancy rate, the average number and the average number of egg quality and embryo quality in normal and hypothyroid groups. Conclusion: IVF results  in hypothyroid women compared with women with normal thyroid is not significant.
