Abstract :
Social capital is a suitable platform for human capital and physical productivity and considered a way to achieve success that gives meaning to life and makes life easier and more enjoyable. Consumption of cultural goods as an aspect of cultural life in action is influenced by the presence of social capital. The aim is to investigate the relationship between students' social capital and cultural consumption in Damghan city. The research method is survey and data collection is done by a questionnaire that after acquiring validity and reliability, are distributed among the participants with a random sampling technique. The statistical population is all students of this city in 2013, which is 2608. A sample of 380 is determined by Cochran’s formula. The result shows that the result of consumption of cultural goods is different between gender and type of school, and the relationship between socio-economic class, social trust, social participation, social interaction, membership in social groups and the social capital of students with their cultural consumption is significant.
