Abstract :
The increasing number of online motorcycle taxi drivers in Central Java Indonesia is in line with increasing accident cases. To address this problem, countermeasures need to be made on the driver’s behalf because the human factor plays the number one role in the cause of accidents. This study aims to identify the relationship between (HEXACO) personality traits, years of service, the age of motorcycle drivers and driving behavior (MRBQ) when working on the road, and the influence of behavior on accident history. We conducted a survey using a questionnaire and direct interviewing with 265 online motorcycle taxi drivers to address the purpose of the study. Ultimately, the present study proposed recommendations that were fashioned into a Behavior Change Technique. The approach in conducting the analysis was quantitative, and the statistical analysis method used to test the hypothesis was structural equation modeling. This study showed that an online motorcycle taxi driver’s HEXACO personality (Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to Experience) significantly influence driving behavior. Driving behavior was shown to affect accident history, likewise, the years of service and age, though they showed no effect on driving behavior.
