Investigating the Components of Urban Prosperity in Creating Residential Satisfaction with a Future Study (Case Study: Rasht City)

Abstract :
Introduction: In recent decades, the study of residential satisfaction has become one of the most important research topics across various disciplines. Understanding residential satisfaction within the framework of urban prosperity requires a structural analysis of its future to enhance satisfaction levels in cities.
Research Aim: This study aims to explore the components of urban prosperity that contribute to residential satisfaction using a futures studies approach in Rasht.
Methodology: The research is applied in nature and employs a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection in the theoretical section was conducted through document review, while practical data were gathered with input from experts and specialists in Rasht using the Delphi technique and cross-impact analysis. Additionally, the study utilized MICMAC and Scenario Wizard software to analyze residential satisfaction within the framework of urban prosperity in Rasht.
Studied Area: The geographical scope of this research is the city of Rasht.
Results: Ultimately, 12 key factors were identified, and 28 potential scenarios were considered for these factors. Among these, responsibility of officials and citizens, per capita urban production, and access to public services demonstrated the highest compatibility values for improving residential satisfaction within the framework of urban prosperity in Rasht.
Conclusion: Residential satisfaction in Rasht depends on economic and social factors such as employment, household income, and public-private sector participation. To enhance this satisfaction, futures studies scenarios focusing on urban governance and public participation can contribute to sustainability and improved living conditions.
