In this work, the corrosion resistance and antibacterial properties of Graphene Oxide were investigated. Hummer’s method was used for production of Graphene Oxide on AISI 304 stainless steel, and its formation was tested by Raman spectroscopy. Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Polarization tests in 3.5% NaCl solution were carried out for corrosion inhibition studies of the produced samples. Results of corrosion measurements revealed that coating of GrapheneOxide on stainless steel greatly improves its corrosion resistance. Surface morphology of the samples after corrosion tests was examined by scanning electron microscope analysis (SEM). The equivalent circuit of all samples was obtained, using the EIS data. Japanese Industry Standard test Methods was used for antibacterial properties investigation against gram negative E. coli bacteria. The results of antibacterial analysis showed that Graphene Oxide with anti-corrosion property, is promising material for antibacterial applications. Manuscript profile

2 - Experimental and Theoretical Study on One-pot, Synthesis of Some 4-Aryl-1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydroquinazolin-2,5(1H,6H)-diones Derivatives (HHQs) using Nano K3AlF6

A one-pot three-component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 4-Aryl-1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydroquinazolin-2,5(1H,6H)-diones derivatives (HHQs) using urea, 1,3-cyclohexadione and aryl aldehydes in acetonitrile at room temperature and at the presence of catalytic More
A one-pot three-component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 4-Aryl-1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydroquinazolin-2,5(1H,6H)-diones derivatives (HHQs) using urea, 1,3-cyclohexadione and aryl aldehydes in acetonitrile at room temperature and at the presence of catalytic amounts of Nano K3AlF6. Synthesis of these new Biginelli-type products (HHQs) requires a very mild reaction conditions. This reaction may be considered as a complementary to the classical Biginelli synthesis. A mechanism was proposed for this reaction. The zeta potential changes of K3AlF6, K3AlF6@benzaldehyde, K3AlF6@1,3-cyclohexadiones and K3AlF6@urea in acetonitrile related to this mechanism were reported. These products were characterized by FT-IR, UV/Vis, Mass,1HNMR and 13C NMR spectra. Nano catalyst was also characterized by FT-IR, XRD, XRF, SEM and TEM methods. This catalyst is easily prepared and also is stable, reusable and efficiently used under reaction conditions. The structures of synthesized molecules were studied using a density functional theoretical (DFT) method and second order perturbation theory analysis of Fock matrix with NBO basis. Furthermore, the solvation Gibbs energies and the electronic properties of these compounds in water and ethanol were studied. Manuscript profile

Acid functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes/CeO2 (MWCNTs)-COOH/CeO2 hybrid was fabricated by the reaction of functionalized (MWCNTs)-COOH and Ce(NO3)2.6H2O in acetic acid. Synthesis of CeO2 nanoparticles and their conjugation on the surface of (MWCNTs)-COOH have been confirmed by FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The modification of MWCNTs-COOH with CeO2 produced an efficient catalyst for the Claisen–Schmidt condensation, soa large variety of chalconeswere obtained in high yield using a catalytic amount of (MWCNTs)-COOH/CeO2 hybrid (5 mol%). In this study, magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction (MDSPE) combined flame atomicabsorption spectrometry (FAAS) was used as a new method for the analysis of nickel preconcentration in chocolate samples. A suitable mixture of magnetic adsorbent 1(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-1,4diazabicyclo[2.2.2] octanylium [DABCO-PDA] and chloro-functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) with chelating agent dimethylglyoxime (DMG) was added into an aqueous solution. Adsorption behaviors of Ni (II) ion on Fe-[DABCO-PDA] NPs were studied. Finally, the main parameters affecting the extraction and determination of the analysis were investigated in detail.According to the findings, the analyte was quantitatively holed on Fe-[DABCO-PDA] NPs in pH 8, eluted totally with 3 ml of ethanol HNO3 2% (v/v), and adsorbed about 50 mg. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the detection limit (LOD) was 0.18 µg Kg-1, with a standard deviation of1.8-4% (n=5). The linear working range of the calibration curve was 1-250 µg Lit-1 and the recovery values ranged from 92 to 97% for all samples. The proposed method was fast, simple, effective and high tolerability to the presence of the ions. Moreover, high sensitivity, better recovery, and the use of environmentally friendly solvents are the other advantages of this technique. Manuscript profile

In this paper, a new lumped kinetic model for methanol to propylene process (MTP) over CeriumHierarchical SAPO-34 catalyst was developed based on data obtained from a micro catalytic reactor in the temperature range of 390–450°C and at atmospheric pressure, using appropriate reaction network. The Ce-HSAPO-34 zeolite was synthesized by hydrothermal method in the presence of nporopylamine as a mesoscale template and pore size modifier. The reaction rate equation has been introduced with consideration of reaction mechanism and the parameters were optimized on the experimental data by genetic algorithm. Comparing the experimental and predicted data showed that the predicted values from the presented model are well fitted to the experimental data. Manuscript profile

4-(naphthalen-1-yl) thiazol-2-amine (NTA) was synthesized and its corrosion inhibition ability on the copper was investigated. The inhibition efficiencies were evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM).The experiments were performed in various concentrations of NTA in 1 M HCl solution. Computational studies (molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and density functional theory (DFT)) were also executed. The corrosion inhibition efficiency of this compound at optimum concentration was about 90%, demonstrating that NTA is an effective corrosion inhibitor. The adsorption of inhibitor obeyed the Langmuir adsorption model. Manuscript profile
