Abstract :
This study aims to investigate the effects of socio-economic base on social participation among the youth. The research method is survey, with a sample of 385 people from the citizens over 18 years old in Babol city. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire are respectively measured by the exterior validity and Cronbach's alpha (0.85). The findings show that social participation is different in various occupational groups and levels of education. Also there is a significant and direct relationship between income and social participation. Hence by increasing or decreasing socio-economic base we see an increase (or a decrease) in social participation. The analysis of the results show that people with higher socio-economic base, for belonging and solidarity to the society, have more emotional effectiveness and impact strength, the strength of the connection between the future of society with their future vision and knowledge of the rules and patterns of social action tend to engage more socially responsible patriotic behavior.
