هدف از این پژوهش بررسی رابطه حمایت سرپرست از نیازهای اساسی روان شناختی و ارضای نیازهای روان شناختی با انگیزش شغلی در کارکنان ستادی و عملیاتی شرکت بهره برداری نفت و گاز مارون بود. شرکت کنندگان در این پژوهش شامل 246 نفر بودند که به روش نمونه گیری تصادفی طبقه ای انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای مورد استفاده در این پژوهش عبارت بودند از؛ مقیاس حمایت از نیازها در محیط کار (تافولین و استنلینگ، 2018)، مقیاس ارضای نیازها در محیط کار (تافولین و استنلینگ، 2018)، و مقیاس انگیزش شغلی چندبُعدی (گاگنه و همکاران، 2015). ارزیابی الگوی پیشنهادی از طریق مدلیابی معادلات ساختاری (SEM) با استفاده از نرمافزار AMOS-24 انجام گرفت. همچنین، به منظور مقایسه مدل پیشنهادی در بین کارکنان ستادی و عملیاتی، از روش تحلیل الگویابی معادلات ساختاری چندگروهی در نرم افزار AMOS-24 استفاده شد. یافتهها نشاندهنده برازش مطلوب الگوی پیشنهادی با دادهها بود. نتایج نشان داد که حمایت سرپرست از نیازهای اساسی روان شناختی کارکنان بر ارضای نیازهای روان شناختی، انگیزش خودمختار، انگیزش کنترل شده و بی انگیزگی آنان اثر مستقیم و معنی داری دارد (01/0p<). نتایج همچنین از تأثیر غیرمستقیم حمایت سرپرست از نیازهای اساسی روانشناختی بر انگیزش خودمختار، انگیزش کنترل شده و بی انگیزگی از طریق ارضای نیازهای روان شناختی حمایت کرد (001/0p<). علاوه بر این، یافتهها نشاندهنده تفاوت معنیدار الگو در کارکنان ستادی و عملیاتی بود (01/0p<).
