ملخص المقالة :
حیواناتی که در جوار انسان ها و در محیط شهری زندگی می کنند اکثرا بر اثر بیماری و تصادف با خودروها کشته شده و مورد اذیت و آزار و خشونت قرار می گیرند. این حیوانات از رفاهی در سطح بسیار کم برخوردارند. نگرانی انسان ها در زمینه ی انتقال بیماری ها خصوصا هاری و گاز گرفتگی و توانایی تولید مثلی بالا در این حیوانات باعث شده انسان ها برای کنترل حیوانات شهری دست به کار شوند. این پژوهش در صدد پاسخ به این پرسش است که ایران برای کنترل جمعیت حیوانات شهری در عین حمایت از حقوق آنها چه اقداماتی انجام داده و آیا در این زمینه موفق بوده است. فرضیه پژوهش حاضر این است که ایران در مدیریت و ساماندهی حیوانات شهری همچنین حمایت از حقوق آنها موفق نبوده و روش های صحیح و انسانی کنترل جمعیت حیوانات شهری در برخی از کشور ها می تواند الگوی مناسبی برای ایران باشند به گونه ای که سلامت و رفاه انسان و حیوان تامین، و حقوق آنها تضمین شود. هدف اصلی پژوهش حاضر ارائه ی پیشنهادهای قابل اجرا برای حمایت هرچه بیشتر از حقوق حیوانات شهری با الگوبرداری از کشورهای پیشگام است.
