Scoping review to investigate the smart city in Iran.

Introduction: These days, people have turned to using new information tools in order to solve the problems of cities and also to improve the living standards of citizens due to the arrival of tremendous human progress in the field of information and the growing trend of urbanization in the world. Objective: This study has been carried out with the aim of studying the process of research activities in the field of smart city indicators by domestic researchers in Iranian cities in order to focus on less worked topics by identifying the existing knowledge gap in this field. Method: The present study is considered as a scoping review about the 6 main indicators of a smart city. 100 articles published in Iran between 2011 and 2022 were studied in order to search, evaluate and complete the databases of domestic articles. Findings: According to the results of this study, the indicators of smart governance and smart mobility were among the active indicators, and the indicators of smart economy and smart people are less in the attention of researchers. Results: In general, it can be concluded that a balanced attention to all smart city indicators is necessary to make cities smart, so it is necessary for researchers to focus on other dimensions that have received less attention, in order to have better planning for the future of this field.
