The erosion and destruction of buildings in Iran by factors such as corrosion, fatigue and creep have become so widespread over the last few decades that they threaten urban security. Concrete and steel structures under corrosive conditions exhibit various kinds of inconsistencies in the process of corrosion. Assessing the safety and reliability of older structures is becoming an increasingly important topic for civil infrastructure management systems.
In this thesis, we discuss ways of renovating and refurbishing old buildings. In this passage, the main purpose of the thesis is to present methods of improvement based on the reliability of old structures. In this study, we will try to gain the reliability of concrete and steel structures for improvement by comprehensive review, so that an effective step can be taken to better and more accurately retrofit old buildings. The method is based on modeling steel and concrete structures in ETABS software and making changes in ETABS software and calculating reliability coefficient and presenting improvement methods.
