تحقیقات صورت گرفته درباره نحوه توزیع عناصر غذایی و رابطه آن با روند تجمع ماده خشک در بخش‎های مختلف سنبله گندم بسیار کم است، در حالی‎که برای افزایش عملکرد دانه بدون ایجاد اثر منفی در کیفیت غذایی، داشتن این اطلاعات بسیار مهم است. در این تحقیق سعی بر آن بود که چگونـگی توزیع عناصــر پر نیاز نظیر پتاسیم (K) و کلسیم (Ca) و کم نیاز مثل منگنز (Mn) و روی (Zn) در بخش‎های مختـلف سنبله (شامل بخش‎های پایینی، میانی و بالایی) و هم‎چنین در دانه‎های مختلف هر سنبلچه (شامل دانه‎های بزرگ و کوچک) در طی روزهای پر شدن دانه بعد از گل‎دهی، در دو رقم مهدوی و فلات مورد بررسی قرار گیرد. نتایج این تحقیق نشان داد که سنگین‎ترین دانه‎ها در قسمت میانی سنبله و سبک‎ترین دانه‎ها در بخش بالایی محور سنبله یافت می‎شوند. بین مقادیر عناصر ماکرو و میکرو در بخش‎های مختلف سنبله با وزن دانه همبستگی مثبت وجود داشت. مقدار غلظت این عناصر در بخش‎های میانی سنبله بیشتر از بخش‎های دیگر بود. نتایج هم‎چنین نشان داد که میزان منگنز و روی در طی دوره پر شدن دانه کاهش یافت. کاهش معنی‎دار غلظت عناصر ماکرو و میکرو مغذی در دانه‎های دور از محور سنبله نسبت به دانه‎های نزدیک به محور سنبله مشاهده شد. میزان کاهش غلظت عناصر نسبت به موقعیت قرارگیری دانه‎ها در روی سنبلچه در مقایسه با محور سنبله بیشتر بود. در این آزمایش بین دو رقم مورد مطالعه تفاوت معنی‎داری در نحوه توزیع عناصر غذایی در طول محور سنبله و سنبلچه دیده نشد.
