Abstract :
The urbanization of cities has developed at a fast rate all over the world, and because of this, fertility has decreased to some dangerous levels, which may drive the urban systems to the brink. Brownfield sites, which were previously polluted and underutilized industrial areas, represent a promising way of ensuring the perfect sustainability of cities and adding resilience to urban areas. The research paper assesses the possibility of brownfield redevelopment to create resilience in a city as a long-term sustainability strategy by applying a sustainable development approach. The outcome is that brownfield redevelopment can be proven necessary for urban areas because it brings positive impacts on all these issues, such as access to green spaces, community engagement, and economic opportunities. Thus, the greater urban. Another aspect of brownfield redesigning is that it can help to clear the air, avoid noise pollution, and improve community function, which are the determinants of urban resilience. The findings have significant implications for policymakers and urban planners seeking to revitalize underutilized areas and increase fertility rates in cities worldwide. According to the results obtained from the scoring of experts in the QSPM method, strategies include repurposing brownfield sites for mixed-use development, incorporating residential, commercial, and recreational spaces to increase urban density and resilience, and improving transportation infrastructure around brownfield sites by incorporating pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly designs to reduce reliance on personal vehicles. The Boshruyeh city case study has prioritized these strategies.
