Objective: The purpose of this research is to predict the anxiety of beginner taekwondo girls based on the relationship between personality traits and perceived stress.
Methods: The research is applied in terms of purpose and correlational in terms of descriptive method, which was carried out in the field. The statistical population of this research includes all beginner taekwondo girls in Tabriz city. The statistical sample of this research was determined based on Morgan's table as a random cluster of 159 people. Beck's anxiety questionnaire (1988), McCree and Costa's personality traits (2015) and Cohen's perceived stress (1983) were used to collect data. After confirming the validity and reliability, the mentioned questionnaires were distributed and collected among the research sample.
Results: Descriptive statistical methods (frequency table, percentages, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics including the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to check the normality of the distribution and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze and research the data. According to the type of scale and the results of the above tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to check the correlation of variables, respectively, for normal distribution.
Conclusion: According to the results, it can be concluded that personality traits have a significant effect on the anxiety of beginner Taekwondo girls, that is, personality traits can predict the anxiety of Taekwondo girls. According to the results, it is concluded that the perceived stress has a significant effect on the anxiety of beginner Taekwondo girls, that is, the perceived stress can predict the anxiety of Taekwondo girls.
