In order to investigate the effect of mycorrhiza inoculation of lemon balm on lead phytoremediation wasconducted a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design with three replications in IslamicAzad University in 2014. Experiment factors including lead nitrate concentrations in 3 levels 0 (control), 100and 200 mg per kg of soil and plants inoculation with mycorrhizal including no inoculation, inoculation withGlomus mosseae and Glomus intraradices were. Studied traits included plant height, root and shoot dry weight,root and shoot leas concentration, lead content of root and shoots and translocation factor. Based on researchresults, lead contamination reduced plant height, shoot and root dry weight. Well as by increasing soil leadconcentrations up to 100 ppm, the concentration and content of lead in roots and shoots increased. But withincreasing soil Pb from 100 to 200 ppm, lead concentrations and Transfer factor were decreased in shoots.Mycorrhizal inoculation of lemon balm improved the height and weight of root and shoots, the concentration andlead content in roots and shoots and the transmission factor. The association effects of Glomus mosseae onlemon balm was more than Glomus intraradices. The research results showed lemon balm was not ahyperaccomulator plant for lead, but the application of mycorrhiza increased tolerance and phytoremediation oflead by lemon balm.
