Cu2+,Ce3+-doped nanostructure TiO2 -coated Nd3+ (TiO2 /Nd3+) were prepared by sol-gel method. TiO2 were synthesized by the sol-gel method using tetra n-butyl orthotitanat (TBT) as a precursor. The prepared nanoparticles characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM- EDS and TEM. The XRD showed that the major phase of nanocomposite is anatase. The morphology of the TiO2/Nd3+/Cu2+and TiO2 /Nd3+/Ce3+ microsphere was investigated using SEM. The TEM shows that the size of TiO2 /Nd3+/Cu2+and TiO2 / Nd3+/Ce3+were 8-10 nm. Moreover, particle shapes were spherical. IR spectrum indicated that Ti-O bond-formed in the chitosan-TiO2nano composite. Acid red 151(AR 151) removed photo-chemically by adding doped TiO2 nanoparticle and H2 O2 in the presence of the UV radiation. The results showed that the photo-degradation percentage decreased as oxidant concentration increases. The maximum degradation percentage (H2 O2 0.2M) was about 96% TiO2 / Nd3+catalyst. The result also showed that the kinetics model reaction in presence of both catalysts followed the fromof pseudo-second order equation presented by Blanchard. Manuscript profile

In this project, new derivatives of fluorescein were synthesized using the reaction of maleic anhydride and saccharin with phenol derivatives in the presence of ZnCl2, and their structures were elucidated by UV, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. Fluorimetry studies showed that, the synthesized compounds can be utilized as fluorescent agents, and their efficiencies were dependent on pH of solution. According to the results of HF/6-31+G*//HF/STO-3G calculations as well as experimental studies, the efficiency of fluorescein analogues derived from saccharin was less than the corresponding fluorescein. Schiff bases of fatty acid hydrazides made from Oil recovered from spent bleaching earth (ORSBE) and Acid oil (AO)were prepared. These newly synthesized Schiff bases were characterized on the basis of FT-IR, elemental analysis and evaluated for biological performance. Schiff bases exhibited mild antibacterial activities against certain micro-organisms if compared with streptomycin used as standard antibacterial agent and imidil used as a standard antifungal agent. Lighthydrocarbons are commonly used to evaluatecrude oils to determine oil families in reservoirs undergone some kind of alteration process. In this study crude oil contentsfromNorthwestern IranDelta (samples A, B and C)were analyzed in order to evaluate the IranDelta petroleum system independent of higher molecular weight markers. Ultra high resolution gas chromatography was used in separation and analysis of the light hydrocarbons.Heptane ratio, invariance, maturity, aromaticity and paraffinicity parameters among the C7 light hydrocarbons discriminated the oils into two families namely marine and terrigenous and also revealed the Northwestern IranDelta oils as supermature. Further confirmation of these two sources for crude oils in the Northwestern IranDeltawas obtained from multivariate plots of each crude oil on a star diagram. Sample B and sample C oils were closely matched by their similar path on the star diagram and grossly different from sample A oil which followed a different pattern. Manuscript profile

(2) No catalyst was required for this reaction. (3) The simplicity of the present procedure made it an interesting alternative to the complex multistep approaches. Manuscript profile

Three new methods using titrimetric and spectrophotometry are described for the determination of Propranolol Hydrochloride (PPH) and Atenolol (AN) with potassium bromate as the oxidimetric reagent and acid dyes, Methyl orange and Indigo carmine. In direct titrimetric (method A), the drug is titrated directly with bromate in acid medium and in the presence of excess of bromide using methyl orange indicator. Both spectrophotometric methods are based on the oxidation of mentioned drugs by a known excess of bromate in acid medium and in the presence of excess of bromide followed by estimation of surplus oxidant by reacting with either Indigo carmine (method B) or Methyl orange (method C), and measuring the absorbance at 609 or 507 nm. Titrimetric methods are applicable over the ranges 1-18 mg for propranolol hydrochloride and 2-10 mg for atenolol. In spectrophotometric methods, the absorbance is found to increase linearly with increasing concentration of drugs, which is corroborated by calculated correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9933, 0.9977, 0.9928 (B) and 0.9951, 0.9976, 0.9984 (C). The systems obey Beer’s law for 2.5-15, 0.625-7.5μg mL-1 (B) and 0.25- 5, 0.25-2μg mL-1(C) for atenolol and propranolol hydrochloride. The proposed methods were applied successfully to the determination of mentioned drugs in tablets. The accuracy of the methods was ascertained by recovery studies. Manuscript profile
