In this article, the vibration and dynamic response of an orthotropic composite cylindrical shell under thermal shock loading and thermal field have been investigated. The problem is that the shell is initially located at a first temperature, and some tension caused by a mild heat field is created, then the surface temperature of the cylinder suddenly increases. The partial derivative equations of motion are in the form of couplings with the heat equations. First, the equations of motion are derived by the Hamilton principle, here first-order shear theory and considering strain-shift relations of Sanders are used. Then, the equation system including the equations of motion and energy equations by the Runge–Kutta fourth-order methodare solved. In this study, the effects of length, temperature, thickness and radius parameters on natural frequencies and intermediate layer displacement are investigated. The results show that the increase in external temperature decreases the natural frequency and increases the displacement of the system. Also, the results of radial transitions were evaluated with previous studies and it was found that it is in good agreement with the results of previous papers. پرونده مقاله

In this article, magneto-thermo-elastic stresses and perturbation of magnetic field vector are analyzed for a thick-walled cylinder made from polystyrene, reinforced with functionally graded (FG) single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) in radial direction, while subjected to an axial and uniform magnetic field as well as a transient thermal field. Generalized plane strain state is considered in this study. The SWCNTs are assumed aligned, straight with infinite length. Two types of variations in the volume fraction of SWCNTs were considered in the structure of the FG cylinder along the radius from inner to outer surface, namely: functionally graded increasing (FG Inc) and functionally graded decreasing (FG Dec) which are then compared with uniformly distributed (UD) layouts. The constitutive equations of this type of reinforced polymeric cylinder are derived by Mori-Tanaka method. Following the introduction of a second order partial differential equation derived from the equations of motion and stress-strain relationships and solving by a semi-analytical method, distribution of stresses and perturbation of magnetic field vector are obtained. Results indicate that maximum radial and circumferential stresses occur in FG Inc and FG Dec layouts, respectively. Maximum perturbation of magnetic field vector is not affected by UD layout. پرونده مقاله

In this article, the prominence has been given to study the influence of skew angle on bending response of functionally graded material shell panels under thermo-mechanical environment. Derivation of governing equations is based on the Reddy’s higher-order shear deformation theory and Sander’s kinematic equations. To circumvent the problem of C1 continuity requirement coupled with the finite element implementation, C0 formulation is developed. A nine noded isoparametric Lagrangian element has been employed to mesh the proposed shell element in the framework of finite element method. Bending response of functionally graded shell under thermal field is accomplished by exploiting temperature dependent properties of the constituents. Arbitrary distribution of the elastic properties follows linear distribution law which is a function of the volume fraction of ingredients. Different combinations of ceramic-metal phases are adopted to perform the numerical part. Different types of shells (cylindrical, spherical, hyperbolic paraboloid and hypar) and shell geometries are concerned to engender new-fangled results. Last of all, the influence of various parameters such as thickness ratio, boundary condition, volume fraction index and skew angle on the bending response of FGM skew shell is spotlighted. Some new results pertain to functionally graded skew shells are reported for the first time, which may locate milestone in future in the vicinity of functionally graded skew shells. پرونده مقاله
