Obviously, it is inefficient and pretty impossible to replace or recharge batteries of sensor nodes (SN) in a vast wireless sensor networks (WSN). Consequently, one of the major concerns in such networks is energy efficiency (EE) which helps to improve reliability and lifetime of these networks. Many researches have been conducted and some efficient methods have been introduced to increase the EE in WSNs. Low-energy adoptive clustering hierarchy (LAECH) is one of these methods, which can decrease energy consumption of each SN. This paper offers a novel technique of clustering and selecting cluster head (CH) which takes the energy level of SNs and distance between them into consideration. This algorithm improves EE and lifetime of each SN. Simulations prove this claim. Moreover, the proposed protocol has not significant complexity since there is no difficult equation to cause overload, then in term of simplicity this novel protocol is significantly efficient. پرونده مقاله

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are composed of many low cost, low power devices with sensing, local processing and wireless communication capabilities. Clustering is a useful topology-management approach to improve lifetime and reduce the energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. In this paper we have proposed a new dynamic clustering method (NDCM) where clusters are created periodically and cluster head (CH) is selected based on threshold function. Unlike the LEACH protocol that clustering are static and cluster head number is fixed in the entire scenario, CHs in our method distributed in Land dimensions and the number of cluster can be dynamically adjusted based on the number of nodes. The simulation was performed in MATLAB software and it was compared with LEACH, LEACH-C, O-LEACH, LEACH-B, M-LEACH, V-LEACH AND W-LEACH algorithms. The simulation results show that proposed method have been reduced energy conservation and enhancement of network lifetime comparing with LEACH algorithm. Coverage of the number of clusters in proposed method is shown too. The results showed that in a test network life of leach protocol was 1100 rounds, whereas network life of proposed method was 3100 rounds. پرونده مقاله

Data gathering is a common but a critical operation in many applications of wireless sensor networks. So, innovative techniques that improve energy efficiency to prolong the network lifetime are highly required. In this research, we analyze the reduction of energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. A sensor network consists of a large number of limited-energy sensor nodes, which are widely distributed in an environment that sense and collect the environmental information. In most applications of wireless sensor networks, there is no possibility of charging node batteries. In these types of networks, the most important challenge is the power constraint that directly affects the lifetime of the sensor network. Protocols designed in these networks should be accompanied by efficient energy consumption. The LEACH protocol is one of the well-known protocols that are widely used in this field. In this study, we use genetic algorithm and fuzzy clustering for improving the LEACH protocol. Our results show that the proposed algorithm has needs energy consumption in comparison with the original version. This leads to a prolonged network lifetime, which is one of the most important issues in wireless sensor networks. پرونده مقاله
