        This study delves into the evolution of peri-urban housing in Tse-Ayu, Benue State, Nigeria, spanning 2004 to 2022. The study aims to investigate shifts in housing trends, with a particular focus on how traditional housing forms have yielded contemporary designs influenced by modernization, technology, and cultural exchanges. Leveraging both primary and secondary data sources, the objective is to investigate the housing typology, architectural styles, and construction materials in the study area. The primary data was collected through a questionnaire survey. The sample size for the study was calculated to be 282 housing units. Descriptive analysis was conducted using SPSS 21.0. The data was presented using tables and charts. The study employs diachronic data gathered from Google Earth images to showcase the evolution of housing development from 2004 to 2022. Providing a clear timeline of housing density trends over this period, revealing a substantial increase from 61 buildings in 2004 to 1052 in 2022. The study also reveals that 58% of buildings are bungalow houses, while only 1.6% are of the indigenous housing typology. Additionally, 76%, of buildings featured aluminium roofing sheets, while 61% and 36% of structures employ cement blocks and burnt bricks for wall construction. This research contributes invaluable insights into peri-urban housing dynamics, advocating for balanced urbanisation that respects cultural heritage and ecological sustainability. The implications of this study extend to local planning, policy formulation, and sustainable housing practises, not only in Tse-Ayu but also across analogous peri-urban regions in Nigeria and beyond. پرونده مقاله

        Today, medical centers are considered to be healing environments. A healing environment provides a space with a positive effect on its occupants. Architecture has an undeniable role in creating such an environment. Comfort factors should be carefully considered when designing health centers. Amongst these factors, acoustic comfort in hospitals plays a prominent role. The adverse effects of noise on patients have been well documented in many studies. Architectural design can have a major impact on the quality of a hospital's acoustic comfort. In this article, studies related to the acoustic design of therapeutic buildings are reviewed. First, different approaches to building acoustic analysis will be reviewed. Then, architectural approaches for controlling noise pollution in medical centers are discussed. Common criteria concerning acoustic comfort in healthcare spaces are introduced. Major acoustic annoyance factors in medical centers are discussed and some potential solutions are presented. This review shows that factors such as site selection, arrangement of different sections, facilities, internal and external noise sources, geometry and structure of the interiors and construction materials have a direct impact on the acoustic comfort of the hospital. General guidelines in acoustical design of medical centers are presented. Some psychological and mental factors associated with acoustic annoyance have also been introduced. پرونده مقاله

        In this paper, the quantities of nanomaterials used in the construction industry in Iran in recent years have been estimated. Then the amounts of nanomaterials in different environments of water, air, soil, and municipal wastewater from 2015 to 2019 in Iran have been estimated. The results show that during these few years, the amount of imports of nanoparticles has been more than its production. This study shows that the highest concentrations of nanoparticles in different environments are SiO2, TiO2, Fe2O3, and carbon nanotube, respectively. While the concentration of TiO2 nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, and Fe2O3 in different environments has increased with a gentle slope during five years. This could be due to the increasing use of these nanoparticles in the industry without control and the lack of appropriate filters to prevent nanoparticles from entering the environment. The results of this study show that during five years, the concentrations of SiO2, TiO2, carbon nanotube, Fe2O3 nanoparticles has increased by about 4%, 30%, 28%, and 45% in water and %11, 16%, 27% and 29% in air, respectively. Also, their concentrations in soil %23, 18%, 43% and 52% and in municipal wastewater %30, 27%, 37% and 61%, respectively. پرونده مقاله
