It provides an evaluation of the success of these contents as well as an interpretation of students’ understanding of the related concepts. Finally it identifies factors that enhance or hinder the successful implementation of Self-Access Language Learning. Both qualitative and quantitative instruments were used to elicit data that give insight into learners’ perceptions of the issues under review. Self-Access Language Learning was evaluated positively by the students, both as a means to improve specialised English and as a means to develop autonomy as well as autonomous learning skills. The study identified a number of factors that contributed to these perceptions. It also revealed that students’ understanding of independent learning is rather shallow. Finally a number of recommendations were made for a successful implementation of Self-Access Language Learning into a curriculum. پرونده مقاله -

2 - Evaluating the SAMT English Textbook for BSc Students of Physics

These branches have a marginal status in the tertiary education, and the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology’s high commission offers no clear guidance for selecting and developing basic academic instructional materials related to the linguistic or communicative standards expected by teachers (Mazdayasna & Tahririan, 2008). This paper tries to evaluate an ESP textbook written for BSc students of physics entitled, ‘English for the students of physics’, which is prepared by the Center for Studying and Compiling University Books in Humanities (SAMT). The present research was based on qualitative and quantitative research techniques and included two steps. First, internal, external and overall evaluation of the book was carried out based on McDonough & Shaw (1993) model. While conducting the external evaluation of the book, the intended audience, the proficiency level, the context of use, the language, the author's views on language and methodology, the inclusion of a vocabulary list/index, visual features, and the cultural aspects were examined. The internal evaluation included the presentation of the skills, grading and sequencing, discourse skills, listening section, the representation of different learning styles. And in overall evaluation, general suitability of the textbook was assessed. In the second step, six teachers each responded to a 22-item textbook evaluation questionnaire to express their perceptions concerning various aspects of the textbooks. The results revealed the extent of appropriateness of the textbook used by BSc students of physics. Suggestions are offered for the future revision and/or designing the textbooks. پرونده مقاله -

3 - The Interface among Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Intelligences, Language Teaching Anxiety, and Classroom Management Beliefs: The Case of EAP Instructors

To this end, a convenient sample of 98 EAP instructors were asked to complete the excerpted sections of McKenzie’s Multiple Intelligences Questionnaire, Teacher Anxiety Scale, and Behavior and Instructional Management Scale. The results of Pearson product-moment tests revealed a significant negative relationship between interpersonal intelligence and classroom management beliefs while no significant link was observed between intrapersonal intelligence and classroom management beliefs. The same results were obtained for the possible relationship between these two intelligence types and language teaching anxiety. Furthermore, a significant negative relationship was found between EAP instructors’ language teaching anxiety and classroom management beliefs. The multiple regression analysis also showed that interpersonal intelligence could strongly predict EAP instructors’ classroom management beliefs. Furthermore, the two independent samples t-tests demonstrated that language and content instructors differed with regard to their language teaching anxiety and classroom management beliefs in EAP classes. The results were discussed in light of previously existing literature and some pedagogical implications were presented for EAP teacher training courses. پرونده مقاله -

4 - بررسی نیازهای مشترک زبانی دانشجویان رشته مهندسی در درس انگلیسی برای اهداف ویژه (زبان تخصصی) و آموزش این درس با استفاده از پیام رسان واتساپ
مریم رودباری امیر مرزبان سید حسن طالبیاین مطالعه با استفاده از یک پرسشنامه نیازسنجی و ارزیابی ، با هدف یافتن نیازهای زبان انگلیسی دانشجویان مهندسی در هفت رشته مکانیک ، برق ، کامپیوتر ، نقشه برداری ، معماری ، تاسیسات و مهندسی عمران در دانشگاه های آزاد اسلامی استان مازندران انجام شد. هدف از این تحقیق یافتن نی چکیده کاملاین مطالعه با استفاده از یک پرسشنامه نیازسنجی و ارزیابی ، با هدف یافتن نیازهای زبان انگلیسی دانشجویان مهندسی در هفت رشته مکانیک ، برق ، کامپیوتر ، نقشه برداری ، معماری ، تاسیسات و مهندسی عمران در دانشگاه های آزاد اسلامی استان مازندران انجام شد. هدف از این تحقیق یافتن نیازهای مشترک دانشجویان مهندسی بدون توجه به رشته های آنها بود. بر اساس تجزیه و تحلیل داده های حاصله از نیازهای انجام شده ، یک دوره درس انگلیسی برای اهداف عمومی دانشگاهی قبل از درس زبان تخصصی روی یک گروه آزمایشی طراحی و تدریس شد. تدریس با استفاده از پیام رسان واتساپ صورت گرفت. استفاده از واتساپ به دانشجویان این فرصت را داد که در محیطی که با آن آشنا بودند زبان انگلیسی را بیاموزند. در واقع مزیت استفاده از واتساپ این است که یک فضای آموزشی مناسب را فراهم میکند که همیشه در دسترس دانشجویان میباشد و امکان ارتباط آسان با استاد را نیز فراهم میسازد. بعد از دوره زبان تخصصی ، میانگین نمره گروه مشاهده با گروه کنترل مقایسه شد. نتیجه آزمون تی مستقل از نمونه ها نشان داد که از نظر آماری اختلاف معنی داری بین دو گروه وجود دارد. پرونده مقاله -

5 - بررسی آموزش کتاب زبان تخصصی انگلیسی به دانشجویان مهندسی آب و فاضلاب و مهندسی عمران با رویکرد مدیریت آموزش محور
پروین رضائی اکرم هاشمیمقاله پیش رو تلاشی است برای بررسی آموزش کتاب زبان تخصصی انگلیسی دانشجویان مهندسی عمران با یک رویکرد مدیریت آموزش محور که توسط انتشارات سمت ایرانیان منتشر شده است. یک صد نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه شهید عباسپور و جامعه آماری پژوهش حاضر 30 نفر از اساتیدی که این کتاب بعنوان ک چکیده کاملمقاله پیش رو تلاشی است برای بررسی آموزش کتاب زبان تخصصی انگلیسی دانشجویان مهندسی عمران با یک رویکرد مدیریت آموزش محور که توسط انتشارات سمت ایرانیان منتشر شده است. یک صد نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه شهید عباسپور و جامعه آماری پژوهش حاضر 30 نفر از اساتیدی که این کتاب بعنوان کتاب درسی آنها در نظر گرفته شده می باشد.داده های جمع آوری شده با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 21 تجزیه و تحلیل شد. نتایج پژوهش نشان داد که رضایت کلی در میان شرکت کنندگان با توجه به معیارهای مورد بررسی کتاب درسی وجود دارد. با این حال برخی نقاط ضعف که شامل کیفیت پایین چاپ، کافی نبودن تمرینات، مثالها و غیر جذاب بودن مطالب ویکنواختی و طبیعت خسته کننده کتاب که توسط برخی دانشجویان اشاره شده است وجود دارد، همچنین اساتید نیز به کیفیت پائین کتاب به عنوان نقطه ضعف اشاره کردند. پرونده مقاله
