The population of the quantitative phase, there were couples who visited counselling centeres in Esfahan in the second half of1400, of which192people were chosen by simple random sampling. The data collection techniques in the qualitative and quantitative phases were in-depth interview and questionnaire, respectively. The coding technique was used in the qualitative phase to analyze the data, and the structural equation modelling approach was adopted in the quantitative phase. The findings of the qualitative phase show Interactionist Empathy (as the first global theme) has four organizing themes, including empathic attention, personal peace, adopting a perspective and imagination. Interpersonal Relationships (as the second global theme) has three organizing themes: lasting satisfaction, Conscious interactionism and mutual acceptance. The results of the quantitative phase indicated that interactionist empathy and its dimension have a high level of power to explain the variance of the interpersonal relationship, and their effect on this variable is direct.the integration of results present as a meta-inference shows alignment in both parts.
