Introduction: This research was conducted with the aim of comparing the effectiveness of integrated behavioral couple therapy and schema-based couple therapy on the communication beliefs of conflicted couples in Shiraz. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and a two-month follow-up. The statistical population consisted of all conflicted couples who were referred to Fajr Shiraz counseling center in 1401, who were selected by purposeful sampling of 45 couples and were replaced by randomization in three groups: integrated behavioral couple therapy, schema-oriented couple therapy, and waiting list. Zaker and Brati's Marital Conflicts Questionnaire (2008) and Idelson and Epstein's Communication Beliefs Questionnaire (1990) were used to collect data. Experiment group one received a 16-session integrated behavioral couple therapy protocol and experiment group two received a 13-session schema-based couple therapy protocol and the control group was placed on the waiting list. The data was analyzed by analysis of variance with repeated measurements. Results: The results showed that both integrated behavioral couple therapy and schema-based couple therapy interventions were effective on communication beliefs and this effect was stable in the follow-up period. Conclusion: Therefore, both integrated behavioral couple therapy and schema-based couple therapy are effective treatments for reducing irrational communication beliefs in couples..
