Sociological analysis of the role of the family and the return of young people to addiction (relapse) in the city of Gorgan

چکیده مقاله :

Family is the most important social institution, within which the roots of many individual and societal challenges can be traced. Therefore, in the present study, which is part of a larger study on the social factors influencing relapse, attempts are made to provide a sociological account of the role of the family in the relapse into addiction. The present qualitative research adopts a grounded theory approach. The population of the study consists of individuals with a history of substance abuse relapse and is selected through purposive sampling; Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 21 subjects. Data analysis began concurrently with data collection and continued up to the point of theoretical saturation. Family bewilderment was identified as the core phenomenon with some sub-categories surrounding it: context conditions (3 components), causal conditions (5 components), intervening conditions (2 components), strategies (6 components), and outcomes (5 components).

 

The results indicate that a sociological elucidation of the family's role can not only clarify how it influences relapse but also help identify ways to address this issue.

 

چکیده انگلیسی:
