Abstract         Irony which has specialized lots of prose works to itself, is a part of critical literature; it is a protest to the wrong doings and disorganizations of the society. It is in fact the sense of accepting the responsibility in the intelligent, sensitive and committed people. We are to study, in this research, the irony and its common themes and the crafts which Sanaei and Attar have used in their works, and show the subjects such as protest to poverty, hypocrisy, and pretence of suffis and snobs, selfishness in the mold of mysticism together with superstition and absurd ideas. Then we dealt with statistic analysis and the irony used in Sanaei and Attar's works and concluded that both mystic poets used irony as an important cultural and social device to increase the community's awareness and punish and cure the ignorant and naïve people with the magic of their maxim and savvy words.
