This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of narrative therapy based on cognitive-behavioral perspective on anxiety of primary school female students n. This research was an experimental pretest-posttest design with control group. The population consisted of all third and fourth grade girls in Yazd in the 2013-2014 school years that had depression and anxiety disorders. To perform this study, 26 of those children who had symptoms of anxiety were selected by convenience sampling method and were placed into two experimental and control groups randomly. Tool used in this study was Children Symptom Inventory (CSI-4), the parent form. Narrative therapy interventions were conducted on the experimental group for 12 sessions lasting 45 minutes each. The results of analysis of covariance showed that narrative therapy intervention had positive effects on generalized anxiety and social anxiety. Based on the results of this study, narrative therapy as an effective therapy method can be used in reducing symptoms of anxiety in children. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of cognitive-Behavioral Stress Management (CBSM) on the anxiety and somatic symptoms of women with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). This semi-experimental study was conducted as post- test and pre-test by control groups. Statistical population included women who had referred to 3 Rafsanjan city pregnancy clinics in May 2009. The sampling method was "step by step" random sampling so after random choice of one clinic, from among women who referred to this clinic, 50 women were selected as available sample and then 20 of them, who acquired the highest score by the Questionnaires for Estimating PMS, were selected as final sample and were randomly separated into two equal groups. Data gathered by General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and Questionnaires for Estimating PMS Symptoms. The women of interventional group took part in 90-minutes training program for 8 sessions. Post–test scores recorded and data analyzed by co-variance test using SPSS-16 software. The data from two groups showed that the mean scores of post-test anxiety (P < 0.05) significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to the control group. The results also showed that the mean scores of post-test of somatic symptoms in experimental group did not decrease significantly. Manuscript profile

Background: sexual dysfunction is common amongst women and is considered one of the important causes of divorce. The current research aims to investigate the effect of mindfulness and Pilates exercises on the amount of female sexual function. The current research is a semi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design. Methods: The current research participants consisted of 44 married women (mean age = 35.8 ± 5.1 years) with sexual dysfunction. They were selected as samples using the convenience sampling method. They were matched and divided into four groups: mindfulness, Pilates, combined exercises (mindfulness-Pilates), and control groups. Mindfulness and combined groups participated in mindfulness interventions for eight sessions (8 weeks, 1 session per week) and Pilates and combined groups performed Pilates exercises for 24 sessions (8 weeks, 3 sessions per week). During this period, the participants assigned to the no-intervention control group did their daily activities. Before and after intervention, data were collected using the Female Sexual Function Index questionnaire. Results: Results from covariance analysis showed all three types of interventions have led to sexual function increase. However, combined exercises were more effective than the other two interventions. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that Pilates and mindfulness exercises may improve sexual function in women with sexual dysfunction. Pain a phenomenon that is experienced by everyone during life. Psychological factors have a key role in continuation of chronic musculoskeletal pain. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of cognitive – behavioral therapy and model – based therapy in reducing pain intensity of the patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. Therefore, in a quasi- experimental study with control group and follow up, 45 patients with diagnosis of chronic musculoskeletal pain by convenience randomly selected in private clinics and hospitals of Isfahan city and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group. The participants were evaluated for pain intensity in three phases of pretest, posttest and follow up. Each experimental groups experienced 10 sessions of psychotherapy. While the control group did not receive any intervention. Analysis of mixed variance showed that there were significant differences between experiment groups (cognitive – behavioral and model- based) and control group (waiting list). But there were not significant differences between cognitive – behavioral and model- based therapies in the reducing pain. This research showed that cognitive – behavioral and model- based therapies can be effective treatments in reducing chronic musculoskeletal pain patients. Manuscript profile
