According to linguistic studies, New Iranian languages are divided into two eastern and western Iranian categories of languages that Lori language belongs to the second ones; new western Iranian languages. The conducted survey among the new western branch of Iranian languages reveals that Lori is the closest language to the Persian language in terms of vocabulary, grammar, etc, in so far as some researchers consider it as a dialect of the Persian language. linguistic Studies show that Although there are differences with the Persian language, the history of Lori language goes back to the Middle and ancient Persian language and this could be due to changes of languages occurred with the passage of time. No written record of Lori language from the ancient and middle periods has been left on and as mentioned, the only evidence of the similarity of Lori language to the Middle and ancient Persian language is lexical study and historical information. Perhaps the reason for this is that Lori has aspect of speech but what is certain is Lori is a branch of modern Western Persian language and has been using at this time as an independent language.
