        The comparative study of two nations which are different in language, culture and social matters would resulted in finding and discovering those nations' commonalities and differences; this makes us understand that how two poets are similar in thinking and content in spite of their different languages, cultures and societies. Consequently studying myth and applying symbols in two mentioned Arabic and Persian poets - Salah Abdel Sabour and Nimā Yushij – is  studied to prove that how these two poets applied symbol and myth in their works in spite of political autocratically system and could make a remarkable evolution in their countries' contemporary poetry.         The technique of applying mask is one of the most important techniques in Arabic contemporary poetry in which the ancient characters would be recalled by mentioned technique in order to express the desired concepts. This literary technique plays an important role in Egyptian modernism contemporary poetry. Thus the present research intends to survey the lexical and expressional meaning of mask as well as applying the different types of this technique so it evaluates three works of this poet. The study shows that the poet have applied the mask in various ways for instance for Mohammad the Messenger, folkloric character of Abu Al Khaseeb and so on. It could be resulted that his poetry enjoys a universal approach from the Arabic one and gave the chance of being frequent among individual and massive issues to the poet. Manuscript profile

        Sadness has special status in Salah Abdel Sabour and Hossein Monzavi’s poetry. In spite of the similarities between two poets’ view about sadness, the differences cannot be ignored. One of the most important differences is that the personal reasons are more than the social ones for being sorrowful. In Monzai’s poetry a kind of pessimism can be seen because of the sadness but not in Abdel Sabour’s ones. This means that the social factors are more notable.
