        1 - Studying new literates' perspective on the effectiveness of non-textbooks: The case of Tehran women

        Purpose: Providing non-textbooks for new literates is an effective strategy for continuing education and promoting literacy. For this purpose, it is necessary that these books must be compiled in accordance with literate’s demography and cultural traits. Hence, this research aims to study the effectiveness of non-textbooks from women literates' perspective. Methodology: To do this, 120 female new literates were randomly selected. To collect desire data, a researcher-made questionnaire including 5 components formal, content, execution, their effect on general and social information and reading and writing was distributed and completed. Findings: Results showed that new literates’ perspective is positive to the 5 components. So, the relationship between age and attitude to non-textbooks effectiveness was significant (0.29).  Also, the relationship between educational grades with attitude to non-textbooks effectiveness was significant (0.35). Conclusion: The non-textbooks can warranty continuing learning in women literates. Manuscript profile
