        Purpose: Studying the information needs of Iran publications directors. Methodology: The survey method is used in this research. The sample totaled 1997 directors that 214 ones were selected through a systematic random sampling. The questionnaire is used as a tool of the survey. To analyze the data, we used descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and variance. Also, the data was analyzed  by the SPSS software. Findings: Iran publications directors considered 56 persons (%37.33) as the first priority of their most needs for information resources to train and to research; they also considered 50 persons (%33.33) as their second priority of the most needs for information resources to increase professional knowledge. The directors considered 55 persons (%36.6) as the third priority of the most needs for information resources to increase personal knowledge and 91 persons (%60.66) as the forth priority to gain information about other publications respectively. The most average of gaining information is highly through the Internet (%4.11). The Fox News Media is of "the most used media" for information resources; "the least useed media" of the resources is a Latin one called Persivishen (%0.56). There are many various methods of surfing  the Internet and websites. The importance of the library in fulfilling the information needs under this study sample is %3.13. Conclusion: It was found that the Internet is the first information device for publications of the   managers and the usage of readers opinions is in the next step. The main aim of the publications of the  managers is to search information and up to date it (37.33%). Finally, they use more than 34% from their emails. Manuscript profile

        The present research was conducted in order to study the educational needs of the parents taking part in family education programs of Tabriz District 1 Educational Office. The present study is a descriptive-survey based research, and an applied research in terms of its results. The population of the study included the parents of all students, in the academic Year 91-92. Cluster random sampling was used for selecting 382 parents. To collect the data three Lickert scale researcher-made questionnaires of were prepared. The primary school learners' parental questionnaire included 59 fixed answer questions and 1 open-ended question; the questionnaire for junior high school learners included 55 fixed answer questions and one open-ended question and the questionnaire for senior high school students included 62 fixed answer questions and one open-ended question. The face validity and content validity of the questionnaires were verified by the supervisor and four professors from Tabriz University, and their reliability in Cronbach Alpha was calculated to be 0.980, 0.871 and 0.976. To achieve research goals, 5 research questions were posed. To analyze the data the descriptive statistics including frequency, median and mean and the inferential statistics of independent t-test, one-way-ANOVA of SPSS software were conducted. The results from the study indicate that the most important educational needs of the parents in family education programs from the parents' point, of view are religious-moral needs. Cultural-social, educational - psychological, emergent issues and hygienic - physical dimensions were respectively the parents' other educational needs. The results also indicate that there is no significant difference between the educational needs of the parents and variables like sex, age, educational level, and the parents' job. Manuscript profile
