Identities, traits and characteristics, social relationships, maps and membership in social groups are what determine a person's identity. Modern identity has arisen from new developments that along with the changes resulting from globalization and scientific and technological advances, have occurred in various dimensions of the bio-world of actors and human agencies, and every day we see the spread of this type of identity in the regions. We are different in the world. Correspondingly, individuals' perceptions of themselves, others, and the international community, especially among young people, are changing. This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting the increasing tendency to modern identity among the youth of Ahvaz. Therefore, 384 young people aged 18-42 living in Ahvaz were interviewed using a quantitative method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that was distributed among these individuals and the data were collected. Findings show that the variables of age, gender, education, socio-economic status, new leisure spending styles and the use of virtual social networks, affect the strengthening of modern identity. According to the results of multivariate regression analysis, the strongest relationship is the relationship between the use of virtual social networks and modern identity with a beta value of 0.305. Accordingly, the use of virtual social networks has been effective on the tendency of young people to modern identity and its dimensions; That is, by increasing or decreasing the use of these networks, the tendency of young people to modern identity and its dimensions will be strengthened or weakened. Among the dimensions of modern identity, only the variable of progressiveness had no significant relationship with the use of virtual social networks. In total, the above factors explain 0.517% of the tendency of young people towards modern identity. Manuscript profile

.The purpose of this study was to understand the place of media and social networks in the conceptual model of women's body management and the acquisition of modern identity. The research was conducted using qualitative approach, grounded theory method and the paradigmatic model. Data analysis was performed using the continuous comparative method of Strauss and Corbin. Unstructured, in-depth interviews were conducted individually, and the duration of each interview session was between 1-2 hours. 15 interviews were conducted. 67 concepts were formed and 21 categories were created. Interviewees were selected via a snowball sampling method. In this study, triangulation validity was used. The results showed that the modern identity was acquired through exclusion of the adult woman, psychological and mental preoccupations, and compliance with social demands. Factors affecting the acquisition of modern identity were identified as body-dysmorphic-disorder, the desire to reach the era of beauty and dreaming of the ideal body. Advancement of technology, people's encouragement and public acceptance were the intervening conditions and the acquisition of modern identity lead to imitating of media and reference groups and a search for beauty surgeons and hair stylits. The consequences of such actions and responses are addiction and dependency to makeup, showing the vertical mobility of social classes, showing good taste and creativity to others, and the spreading of a culture of consumption. This research aimed to address the conceptualization of multiplicity of identities in the city of Tehran. A qualitative research method was utilized and the interview technique was used to collect needed data. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with residents of different neighborhoods of Tehran (including: Niavaran, West, Velenjak, Chitgar, Rey, and Sayyere St.). It should be noted that by completing 30 interviews, the so-called  theoretical saturation was reached. The method of encoding interviews was inductive and in the form of three types of open, axial and selective coding based on the coding logic of Strauss and Corbin, Which has led to the drawing of a paradigm pattern of identity in the city of Tehran. The overall result of this study was that changes in urban space have caused changes in the relationships of individuals with each other and in the environment, which leads to the duality of the emergence of traditional and modern identities in the behavior of residents of neighborhoods.
