        Methods: In the qualitative part, sequential-exploratory method and in a small part, descriptive-survey method have been used. Participants in the qualitative section included 21 academic experts who were purposefully selected using key experts and the method of theoretical saturation. In the quantitative section of the statistical population in a small stage of this research all faculty and staff of Islamic Azad University of Fars Province 1730 employees and 1760 faculty members. To determine the sample size of the statistical population, cluster random sampling method was used, then 317 people were randomly selected from the clusters and a questionnaire was distributed. Research tool in the qualitative part of exploratory interview and It is also semi-structured and in a small section for evaluating university administrators Islamic Azad Fars Province Leadership Competency Questionnaire obtained in the qualitative phase designed based on themes, have been used. In the qualitative part, the analysis of the interviews was done using the thematic analysis method (basic, organizational and comprehensive themes) and in the quantitative part, for the analysis of the data, the exploratory factor analysis was confirmed. Results: Results of seven leadership competencies including visual competencies with a factor of 0.83, value-ethical competencies with a factor of 0.75, social-emotional competencies with a factor of 0.69, political competencies with a factor of 0.70, competency Technical-specialized factors with a factor of 0.83 and managerial-operational competencies with a factor of 0.77 and four factors affecting the competence of leadership of Azad University managers, including: ethics with a factor of 0.63, motivation with a factor of 0.77, management with a factor of interaction 0.79 and showed a structure with a factor of 0.69.
