  The purpose of the present study is to survey the political intelligence of physical education directors at Islamic Āzād universities.  The method of study is descriptive correlational and the population of research includes all physical education directors at Islamic Āzād universities in the country whose number reached to 95. The measurement tool in the research was a political intelligence questionnaire (ISIS). The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a number of experts in sport management and its reliability was calculated by Cronbach alpha for political intelligence questionnaires to be 0.906. The results of constructional equation tests showed that some indices including social plays, political character, power mobility, open honesty, and emotion control have a positive and significant impact on the performance of political intelligence among physical education directors at Islamic Āzād university in the country. According to the obtained results, it seems that using political intelligence for the appropriate handling of changes, proper decision-making, and suitable use of opportunities are inevitable for the above directors. Therefore, having political intelligence is essential for their success. Manuscript profile
