One of the important social functions of religion is identity building. Religions determine characteristics for their followers that by creating similarities and differences with others, create correlations between them and distinguish them from others. In this way, they define the identity of their followers by creating a border between insiders and others. In historical religions, this process of identification continues in the context of history. Jewish identity, as an ethnic-religious identity, has been formed throughout history and is still subject to ambiguity and controversy to this day. The Pentateuch, the basis of the Old Testament, describes the birth and formation of the Jewish people. In this text, several components and processes can be found that play a role in the construction of Jewish identity, including the covenant, the patriarchs, the choice, the ethnicity, the law, etc. "Blessing" is also one of these components. In this article, with an interdisciplinary approach, the function of blessing as an identity-making process in the text of Pentateuch is explained and analyzed. Blessing is shown to be related to the definition of ethnic boundaries, concepts, and religious institutions, and to the definition of Jewish identity. Manuscript profile

God has assumed daily portion (income) not only for human beings but for all beings, with the difference that the breadth of human daily portion has various factors, many of which are related to their performance. Worldly daily portion in the Qur'an includes the necessities of life and spiritual daily portion has many examples such as blessed life. In the Holy Qur'an, human behavior towards fasts is involved in their continuation, expansion, interruption and receipt; This is also the case in The Bible, and since the nature of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are the same, the teachings of these religions, which are created in their heavenly books, have similarities. This article studies the factors of receiving and expanding daily portion in the Qur'an and The Bible in a comparative-analytical manner. God has introduced the Qur'an and the covenants of daily portion, and one of the most important factors in expanding daily portion in both is obedience to God, and one of the most important factors in lacking it, is disobedience to divine commands. Allegory is one of the most important expressing arrays. Allegory is an inferential artistic and skillful style, with the aim of better transferring of concepts and meanings to the addressees. The definitions by the scholars about allegory are somewhat different with each other. Some consider it as complex metaphor with pseudo-complex form, some have placed idioms in the group of metaphors, and some have regarded styles and some others have considered metaphoric stories as allegories. Despite all the differences, authors have considered mystic allegoric narratives about thankfulness and ingratitude, with precision. Ingratitude indicates ignoring the blessings by the beneficent, and it has considerations that are divided into verbal gratitude for confessing the blessings, cordial thankfulness for God’s blessings and practical thanking regarding obedience to the beneficent. Thanking is analyzed in the rational domain and is one of the mystic aspects. To express reprehension of ingratitude, mystics have benefitted from allegories. The structures of the mentioned allegories have two upper and lower layers. In the lower layer, i.e. in the depth, the upper layer attains meaningful extensions, causing the inclusion to be increased. It is why that allegory is appropriately referred to as the extensive metaphor or the paraphrased symbol. Manuscript profile

This paper endeavors to study over the standpoint of Allameh Tababaei as a theologian, great commentator, well-aware of the expanse of Islamic mystical thoughts and fundamentals in terms of the hierarchy and realms of existence, and their relationship with divine names and attributes and the universe and the world of revelation and creation, and deliberates on his philosophical, Koranic, and mystical beliefs.   What stems from the study of Allameh Tabatabaei’s works is that while making a classifications of the hierarchy of world, he had held three viewpoints, namely philosophical, Koranic, and mystical so that he had three separate classifications due to them. In his philosophical works he points to three realms of wisdom, imagination, and matter and materials, and also in Tafsir Almizan that is interpreted verse by verse, the creatures and realms of existence are classified into the world of revelation and world of creation. However, in his views based on mystical trainings, he has argued over a world that is hierarchically superior to the entire philosophical realms, i.e. the realm of divine names and attributes. Therefore, the writer tries to recognize the consistency or inconsistency of the three viewpoints in addition to the precise description of the perspectives, and compare and study over his Koranic and mystical viewpoints with his philosophical ones. The methods used in this paper are descriptive-analytical together with the reference made to the first hand and library sources. Manuscript profile
