4 - Embodiment Of Deeds and Soul Faculties in Mystics’ Viewpoint
        Akbar Asadalizadeh

According to mysticism and literary contexts, in the life after death, human beings would acquire an identity that is appropriate with their deeds and beliefs that leads to embodiment of their behavior, attributes and all goodness and badness of their soul faculties. If the attributes of predatory animals and savages overcome them and they used to get absorbed in lust and soul desires, they would obtain the form of predatory animals and savages. However, if they leave life with believing and obeying God’s commands, they would get into fairness, purity and sweet smelling. Anyone having insight would be able to observe the identity of his or her own and others. However, most persons are not able to do so. Once the veil of truth is removed and everyone is buried, all can be observed with insight while everyone is in proper features and shapes. Light and fairness of scorpions and serpents that surrounds them, in fact, are all the faculties and attributes that will be revealed in the world after life. Manuscript profile

Shams-e Tabrizi is an eminent figure in Sufism and also is one of the most influential characters on Jalāl al-Din Rūmi, however based on existing sources some aspects of his character is ambiguous. In Maqalat, written by Shams-e Tabrizi and reflecting its author’s life and beliefs, we encounter some phrases referring to concepts of self-assertion and boastfulness which represent the position of the concept of "ego" in the author’s mind. These phrases mainly refer to admirable aspects of "self" or criticize and denounce some Sufis. But on the other hand, in Islamic mysticism and Sufism, self-assertion and boastfulness are obstacles to attain the Truth. So, we are faced with a paradox in Maqalat that is mainly rooted in the author's personality. According to the psychoanalytical approach, literary works are examined as the mentality of the author and reflections of his/her unconscious. In the present article, based on method of psychological criticism, we attempt to study Maqalat, and to examine the "realm of imagination" of the author regarding to the concept of ego. This is done by mapping the metaphorical process of "the mirror stage" and showing the emergence of narcissism and its behavioral appearances.   Manuscript profile

Scholars believe that man has two kinds of birth: 1) formal and 2) the second or spiritual birth. The spiritual birth, which is also called divine birth and wedding of eternity, is one of the foundations of mysticism of Mulānā Jalāl-al Din Rumī. Like the mystics who believe to expansion and intoxication, he speaks about loving death and considers it as a state of human evolution, in which one moves from realm of multiplicity and world of nature to realm of unity and world of divine. According to Rumī, the spiritual birth depends on faith, spiritual fatherhood and love.  On the basis of the anecdotes of Masnavi Manvi, the present article tries to explain different kinds of birth, factors affecting volitional death, state, features, ways and benefits of this kind of death.    Manuscript profile

In this article the consistency of proving the absurdity of metempsychosis (tanāsukh) and believing in metamorphosis (maskh) will be surveyed. So, after defining the metempsychosis and mentioning its divisions, we collect all reasons why the transcendenttheosophists reject the idea of metempsychosis as absurd. Then, regarding the opinions of these philosophers about the nature and reality of the metamorphosis, we show that those reasons are not fit for rejecting the metamorphosis. Finally we come to this result that proving the absurdity of metempsychosis and believing in metamorphosis are completely consistent. Manuscript profile

Abstract         The Asrarottohid is a valuable literary and mystical book and the most important source in social history of Iran from 553 to 599 A. H. by Mahammad ibn Monawar Mihani in three chapters. All of the chapters of this book is about the biography of Sheikh Abu Saeed Abulkhayr. Since it is investigated for the first time, it deserves to be paid much attention. Besides the sensual memory, there are memories in the Asrarottohid and the method of receiving them were audio-visualism. Memories are of four types: divine , angelic , worldly and satanic. Divine is something that alights in the heart directly and leads the mind to general creation. Angelic comes to the mind indirectly and provokes man toward good deed and worship and keeps from  mischief and sin. Corporeal comes to mind directly and hinders against sesualism and futile motives. Satanic come indirectly to the mind and leads the man to astray, depending on non-divinity element and not to ask God for help. Divine inspiration sometimes happen indirectly and the other times directly; those which occur indirectly need the instruments which enter the inspirations from the Almighty to man's heart. One of the mediators of inspiration are the angels. The opposite point of inspiration is auto-suggestion which happens through the satanic mind. The research method is descriptive-analytic one. The writers of this essay are to discuss samples of divine inspirations and satanic self-suggestions from the Asrarottohid. Manuscript profile
