Introduction and Objective: Human being is a social creature and needs social relationships. Communal spaces are used for the development of social communication. One of these communal spaces is square where the public life is formed, which Baharestan square has been considered in this study. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of physical factors on community life in Baharestan Square (as a communal space). Method: The survey method was descriptive-analytical based on data collection, and was functional in terms of purpose. The statistical population of the study consisted of Architects (students of Architecture) of Islamic Azad University of Tehran. Results: According to the reachable samples, the sample size was 170 people, and for choosing the samples, all were considered. Data was collected using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. Pearson correlation and regression tests were used to analyze the data. Conclusion: The results showed that there is no meaningful relationship between flexibility, facilities, diversity of function and public life in Baharestan Square, but the variables of accumulation and spatial determination have a positive effect on public life variable in Baharestan square.   Manuscript profile

The categorization system is an approach, and at the same time, a generic process for generating groups of ideas, objects, or concepts that all recognize them, while at the same time differentiating them into an entirely perceived one. Urban squares, as important urban space, needs a comprehensive understanding of the category structure. The number of classification approaches, as represented by theorists, has a formal or content-oriented construction and rarely has both of these dimensions. Only the stated categories do not really have the comprehensiveness to have a full-fledged methodology, and virtually all the standards that can be extracted by reverse engineering, for field recognition, lead the audience to some degree of ambiguity and complexity. The purpose of this research is to explain the new type of view and also the criteria for the cognitive phenomenon of an urban square, which can provide a complete categorization, which in this research is called the phenomenological category of the field, which is characterized by an Urban Square Comprehensive Cognition Matrix the urban capability Applies to. The type of research is analytic - an extension that is also used to explain the type of product used. With the use of this USCCM matrix in 35 urban squares in several European countries and taking into account all aspects of its form and content, all case examples are identified in the matrix and are categorized in a specific structure. Consequently, using this matrix can be used as a comparison tool in the quality of urban fields and their ranking, and finally, by modeling this category, the criteria mentioned for the assessment of urban square analysis It was also discussed in future studies. Due to the social nature of man, urban spaces such as squares are considered to be the most important manifestations of social nodes in urban life. While these squares take historical forms, they have such special place and time significance that cognitive documentation of this phenomenon as a major pillar of urban spaces can be used to qualitatively identify squares and public realms that are the foundation of social interaction. In order to have the knowledge of their morphological evaluation to express design principles, consulting with urban design experts is a must. The traditional evaluation of the urban square, due to its specific qualitative dimensions, was considered as a qualitative judgment which often had a high error rate in the survey, so the majority of the studies, generally, are qualitative and based on pure analysis. The purpose of the current research is the phenomenological recognition and qualitative analysis of urban space. Using a combination of several methods, first, the field element in the quality recognition matrix and the six Wolfrum criteria as well as sixteen urban squares were selected from the European cities, In the first stage, by means of Human Subjective Evaluation and Normalized AccumulatedQuality Graph Output, the numerical value was accumulated and then analyzed using the Automatic Geography Evaluation method. Finally, examining the correlation of these two methods led to the qualitative measurement of these urban elements. First, the selected ones were evaluated through HSE method analysis and NAQ extraction primary evaluation about human approach oriented was done. Second, using the AGE method in the analysis, the researchers evaluated the next step of that up to geometrical automotive and correlation between them.  The results of the present study showed that this urban element had many dimensions to be quantitatively extracted. Last, all of the models for evaluation of square qualities in this study are considered the primary step to help the researchers have a functional standard draft while designing.           Manuscript profile

Urban squares constantly were known as one of the effective urban spaces in ancient cities and also in Iran in which all types of citizen’s presence are observed in them. But, recently, due to entering cars in cities, they have missed previous meaning and have been transformed to traffic elements which are suppressed by vehicles. This issue causes ignorance of aesthetics elements in modern squares. Indeed, what is known as new urban square definitions has far distance by previous definition. With respect to this introduction, this paper aims to study influential factors of aesthetics in urban squares. Therefore, 3 squares of Hamadan which have significant differences by the measures of physical, cultural and social characteristics were selected. Research method is descriptive-analytic and spss software has been applied to perform ANOVA test. Results showed that predesign and socio-cultural factors significantly influence aesthetical citizen’s persecution of squares. Manuscript profile

Urban squares are valuable parts of urban heritage. There has always been a center called the square linked to the government's fate, the people, and the history of that land in every country. In this regard, the analysis of various components affecting the emergence of urban squares as a public space in Islamic countries is a topic that is addressed in this study. The critical role of squares in cities' structure highlights the importance of recognizing the stages of their development and evolution to properly understand Islamic countries' urban structure and generalize its results. Therefore, With the aim of profoundly understanding the importance of the square in Islamic cities' structure, This study seeks to answer how squares have become the beating heart of Islamic cities after their emergence and spatial-physical changes? Using the descriptive-analytical research method, Martyrs' Square in Beirut, Marjah Square in Damascus, and Taksim Square in Istanbul have been studied. Based on research, it can be concluded that Urban squares, as a new form of public space, were formed in Islamic countries in the late 19th century in response to the growth of the urban population and the political stability and economic power of the ruling government. These squares were initially located outside the old city walls, and overtime and the city's physical development, they have played an essential role in the urban structure. Finally, by providing the necessary spatial and physical context for social events' support and occurrence, they have civil and memorial meanings. Manuscript profile
