The present research studies the opinions of commentators and syntacticians about the oath of "La Oqsem" (I do not Swear) in Holy Quran. There are different opinions about the role of the letter "La" (I do not) in this structure among commentators. Therefore, first, all the important opinions in this field were counted and examined based on the verses of Qur'an as well as the rules of syntax science. There are three main views amongst them about the role of the negation letter: 1. The addition of the letter "la"; 2. The negation of the letter "La"; 3. The third view is that the origin of the word is "La Oqsem" and the letter A is saturated. This view, in addition to having a syntactic problem, is also inconsistent with popular reading. Studies have shown that none of the above opinions are convincing and complete, and Mukhtar's statement is that the structure of "La Oqsem" in Holy Qur'an is the same as the verb oath, which means "I swear" and this type of use has been common among Arabs.
