  Iran and Egypt have many similarities in different fields and aspects. These commonalities have created similarities in their evolutionary which the most important amongst is the mental and scientific evolution in both countries. Two characters in the modern era played significant role in people's awakening: Abdul'Rahim Talibov from Iran and Rifa'a al-Tahtawi from Egypt. Both scholars have felt the lags and shortcomings of their societies and have attempted a lot in order to save their countries. The present paper tries to compare these two intellectuals' attitudes and functions on evolution and modernism of their own societies. Manuscript profile
