  Concept of liberty is one of the important and significant issues in freedom and liberalism. The present research initially studies two main elements – liberty concept and strategies to achieve liberty – in Frankfurt school which is a twentieth century idea and then criticizes the liberty concerned by the mentioned school. The outcomes show and prove that the concept of liberty in Frankfurt school owns ethical concept and means freedom of capitalism system; it focuses on social freedom only. Since the main ideology by ethical issues is freedom of egoism from Islam viewpoint. Holy Quran knows human's passion and desire as constraint for freedom and expresses it in two aspects: internal liberty – moral – and external liberty – social. Manuscript profile
