  This study aimed to determine the attitudes of students in Islamic Azad University of Tabriz towards marriage. This was a descriptive – survey study and its population included all female students in Islamic Azad University of Tabriz. One hundred single female students were selected through convenient sampling method. Marriage Expectation Questionnaire was used in this study and its reliability (0.80) was obtained via Cronbach’s’ Alpha coefficient. The data were analyzed by using One-sample t-test, Friedman, Pearson correlation and ANOVA. Results showed that the realistic expectation had a highest priority and the pessimistic expectation had the least priority. By increasing of the age, overall marriage expectation, realistic expectation and idealistic expectation decreased and pessimistic expectation increased. Overall marriage expectation, realistic expectation and idealistic expectation and pessimistic expectation showed no significant differences based on education level. Manuscript profile
