  Highlighting expression was one of the subjects paid attention by Russian formalists in a way that they differentiated two languages – normal language and poetic language – by highlighting. Highlighting could be known equal with norm deviation in literature; because highlighting is based on poet's deviation from rules and standard language; poet attracts the reader's attention to other viewpoint and aspect by norm deviation. In other words, a poet deviates from standard language to attain the literature by enjoying some tricks. Thus highlighting means abnormal and uncommon language to form a literature. The present research studies highlighting and the issues may result it in two odes by Ahamd Mattar. The method is formalistic and all factors cause highlighting have been expressed in this research.
