The purpose of this study is to compare descriptive and traditional evaluation methods based on quartet evaluation standards (utility, propriety feasibility, and accuracy) from the viewpoint of elementary school teachers in Tehran city. In order to achieve this aim, and besides the review of literature, opinions of all teachers (40 persons) in executive schools of descriptive evaluation project were gathered through researcher-made questionnaire. The results of data analysis show that descriptive evaluation adjusts better to evaluation standards. In addition, among the mentioned standards, the efficiency standard represents more adjustments than feasibility standards with descriptive evaluation. Manuscript profile

Evaluation has always been a time- consuming, expensive and important process in educational systems. In addition, reliable outcome cannot be achieved unless we use appropriate criteria. In this research, a system using Fuzzy logic criteria was proposed for the evaluation of faculty members' teaching performance. Fuzzy logic is considered as a modern method of inference which is used for different purposes as a powerful instrument when combined with computer. In this research, we first gathered required information from experienced faculty members and those with enough information about new educational technology. Then, efficient methods of teaching mathematics at undergraduate level as the case study have been studied and analyzed using new methods and Fuzzy logic. Finally, with the help of the researches done, a Fuzzy system for educational evaluation was designed and was applied with MATLAB software. The results of the evaluation showed that using the proposed system (in this case study) more efficient evaluation on faculty members' teaching performance would be possible. Also, they can increase and improve the productivity of teaching procedures using this system. Furthermore, this research showed that evaluation errors would decrease using Fuzzy inference. Educational evaluations are seen as the main part of educational planning process, through which either learners are differentiated from each other and or instructors are helped to evaluate their performance. This study was aimed to investigate the students’ point of views in Ramin Agriculture and Natural Resources University of Khuzestan regarding evaluation methods. It was done using survey method which included all the university students studying in bachelor and master science grade during 1393-94 as the study population (N=2200). A sample of 322 persons was selected using Krejcie and Morgan’s sample size table in a simple random sampling manner. To gather the needed data, investigators developed a questionnaire which its validity was confirmed by a panel of agricultural extension and education faculty members of the university. Its reliability, also, was examined by calculating alpha Cronbach’s coefficient. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. Results showed that respondents are more interested in multi-choice questions rather than other evaluation methods, and less in oral exams. There were also significant relationships between respondents’ gender and willingness of them to use descriptive multi-choice items and their mean score and willingness to use oral exam, respectively at 0.01 and 0.05 levels of significance. Finally, the study concluded by respecting the students’ views in selecting the evaluation methods by instructors of classes. Manuscript profile
