A Sociological Analysis of the Effects of lack of Self-Expression on Feelings of Relative Deprivation in Urban Society (case of study: District 13 of the city of Esfahan)

Abstract :
This study aimed to do a sociological study of the effects of lack of self-expression and over-expression on perceived relative deprivation, social exclusion, and violence. This was a descriptive survey in nature. Data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire via a Likert-type scale. The research population consisted of all households in district 13 of the city of Esfahan. On the basis of Cochran's formula at the 5% error level, 384 individuals were selected as the sample, but 420 questionnaires were distributed via an accidental sampling technique and a total of 400correct questionnaires were filled out and analyzed. After confirming the validity of the measurement instruments with confirmatory factor analysis and reliability obtained by Cronbach's alpha coefficient, data analysis was performed. The results showed that lack of self-expression has a positive effect on relative deprivation. (t-value=30.449, β=0.692.).
